Meet Michelle

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Michelle’s love of the mountains began at an early age as she grew up travelling to Western Canada, Europe, and the United States on family ski holidays.

Michelle‘s background is rooted in education and teaching as she holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts from McMaster University. After university, she answered the call to the mountains and moved to Banff where she discovered yoga after fracturing her pelvis in a ski accident. In 2016, Michelle travelled to India to receive her RYT-200 Yoga Teacher Training certification. In 2019, she completed the Hiking Guide certification from the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, and as an outdoor professional, Michelle has an 80-hour Wilderness First Responder certificate.

Whether she is hiking up or skiing down, Michelle thrives in the mountains. She is inspired by mountain culture and outdoor living, and she loves to share the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and nature.

Michelle is an all around incredible Facilitator. I’ve had the pleasure of practicing with her at Wildheart Canmore attending many of her Snow Flow classes. I’ve always enjoyed her thoughtful and considerate sequencing. I also had the opportunity to attend her Spring Yoga and Acupuncture event. I left feeling like seeds were sprouting, refreshed and revitalized. It was a cleansing experience and I would highly recommend attending it or any of her beautiful offerings.

“Michelle is a wonderful guide! She was warm and welcoming. We started with about an hour of yoga followed by a 3-mile hike along the Bow River. I highly recommend booking an outing with her!”

-Katie (Texas)

“Michelle guided me to the Giants Steps hike last summer with a couple other friends (group size restriction for that area due to bear activities), we had a great time!!! I have always been really self-conscious about how slow my hiking speed is; Michelle made me feel so comfortable the whole hike and going at a pace that suited the whole group. And finally I checked this hike off the list after wanting to do it for 20 years!! Thank you Michelle and you rock!!!
